Matt is currently writing his debut book ‘The Longest Road’. It is a travel memoir that immerses the reader in his epic journey driving the Pan American Highway. This route, also known as the world’s longest road, runs from the top of North America to the bottom of South America. Over two years, Matt drove 50,000 kilometres through 15 countries from the edge of civilisation in the Canadian Arctic to where the road ends in southern Patagonia.
On this expedition, he survived armed robberies by the Mexican cartel, ice roads in the Arctic, frost-biting temperatures in the Yukon, van towings, civilian mobs, police bribes, desert breakdowns, militia roadblocks, high-altitude highways, floods, landslides, food poisoning, scorpion stings, hospital visits, boat crossings, vehicle crashes, and adversities beyond imagining.
